Introduction
Welcome to Sudoku Rethink (“we”, “us”, “our”). We build privacy-respecting puzzle games. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using our apps, websites, and related services (“Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
Scope
This policy covers our mobile apps, websites, and in-app Services. It does not cover third-party websites or services that we don’t control. Third-party trademarks and logos are the property of their respective owners.
Information We Collect
- Device & App Data: device model, operating system (OS) and OS version, screen size, language, app version (& build), and basic diagnostics (e.g., crash/ANR logs).
- Network Data: IP address and general region (e.g., country), mobile country code, and advertising identifier (e.g., Google Advertising ID) when available.
- Usage Data: non-personal analytics such as session length, screens viewed, feature usage, first open, load time, and (for gameplay) puzzle completion time, mistakes, hint usage, board ID, mode, and difficulty.
- Cloud Sync Data (optional): if you sign in, we store your email, display name, a unique user ID, and your gameplay progress for cross-device sync and leaderboards.
- Contact Data (optional): email address and any information you include when you contact us or submit feedback.
How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the app experience and puzzle quality.
- To diagnose issues (e.g., crashes/ANRs) and protect against fraud or abuse.
- To sync progress across devices and power leaderboards (if you sign in).
- To respond to feedback and support requests you send us.
- To measure usage to guide feature development and performance improvements.
- To serve non-personalized or consent-based personalized ads where applicable.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)
- Performance of a contract: to provide the Services you request.
- Legitimate interests: for purposes such as app analytics, diagnostics, security, and improvement.
- Consent: for personalized ads, marketing communications, and push notifications where required.
Ads, Analytics & Crash Reporting
We may use service providers (e.g., analytics and crash reporting platforms, ad networks) to help operate the Services. These providers process limited data in accordance with our instructions and cannot use it for their own marketing. We do not sell your personal data.
- Analytics: e.g., engagement metrics to improve puzzles and performance.
- Crash/ANR Reporting: error details that help diagnose stability issues.
- Advertising: may use your advertising ID to limit ad frequency, fight fraud, and (where consented/available) personalize ads.
Cookies & Mobile Identifiers
Websites may use cookies and similar technologies; mobile apps may use the device’s advertising identifier. On Android, you can reset or remove the advertising ID in device settings. Disabling personalized ads won’t remove all ads, but they will be less relevant.
Your Choices & Controls
- Personalized Ads: toggle/consent (if available in-app) or use your device settings to opt-out of ad personalization.
- Push Notifications: disable in-app or via system settings.
- Cloud Account: you can use the app without signing in. If you sign in, you can sign out at any time; deleting your account removes your synced data from our servers (see “Data Deletion”).
Data Security & Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. We retain analytics and related records for up to 12 months following a period of user inactivity, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.
Data Deletion & Access
- In-App: Settings → Account → Delete My Data (if available) removes your cloud profile and synced gameplay from our servers.
- By Email: request access to or deletion of your data at privacy@sudokurethink.com (ideally from the email tied to your account).
Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
International Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in your region and in other countries where we and our service providers operate. We take steps consistent with applicable law to protect such transfers.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have data portability rights and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Your California Privacy Rights
We do not "sell" your personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We also do not "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Third-Party Links
Our apps and sites may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; we are not responsible for their content, actions, or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. We will post the updated policy in the app and/or on our website and update the “Effective Date.” Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes in advance.

Terms & Conditions
Terms governing your use of Sudoku Rethink apps, websites, and services.
Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms & Conditions (“TAC”) are a binding agreement between you (the "user") and Sudoku Rethink (“we”, “us”, “our”) governing all mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this TAC and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Definitions
- Apps / Websites / Services: Our mobile applications, sites, and any features we provide.
- Device: A phone, tablet, desktop, or other device capable of running the Services.
- Sudoku Boards: Sudoku and variant boards included in the Services.
- Guardian: A parent or legal guardian of a user aged 16–17.
Eligibility
- You must be 18+, or 16–17 with Guardian consent, to use the Services.
- If we previously suspended or banned you, you may not access the Services.
Description of Services & Changes
- The Services include access to games, variants, boards, and related features.
- We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any feature, content, or board at any time, temporarily or permanently.
- We do not guarantee compatibility or performance on every Device or OS.
Subscriptions (Auto-Renew)
Some features may be offered via recurring subscriptions (monthly/quarterly/annual). Your plan auto-renews at the end of each term unless canceled in time via the platform where you subscribed.
- Apple (iOS): Manage or cancel in your device’s Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Auto-renew charges occur within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Google Play (Android): Manage or cancel in Play Store → Account → Payments & subscriptions. Auto-renew charges occur before the current period ends.
- Free trials (if any) convert to paid unless canceled before the trial ends.
Payments & Refunds
- Payments are processed by Apple or Google (or other platform providers). We do not collect your full payment details.
- Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable. Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have.
- Prices and taxes may change; we may offer promotions or bundles periodically.
License & Permitted Use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to this TAC. The Services are licensed, not sold. We retain all rights not expressly granted.
Prohibited Conduct
- Do not copy, record, scrape, export, sell, resell, publish, or distribute Sudoku Boards or app assets without our written permission.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, except where permitted by applicable law.
- Do not circumvent technical protections, manipulate leaderboards, cheat, or interfere with fair play.
- Do not infringe others’ rights, violate laws, or upload harmful or unlawful content.
Cloud Sync & Accounts
If you sign in for Cloud Sync or leaderboards, we may store your email, display name, and a unique user ID along with gameplay progress. While we take reasonable safeguards, outages or failures may occur; you should maintain your own backups as appropriate. We may modify or discontinue Cloud services at any time.
Intellectual Property
- All code, puzzles, designs, names, texts, images, animations, music/sound effects, icons, and other content are owned by Sudoku Rethink or its licensors and protected by applicable laws.
- Feedback you provide may be used by us for any purpose without obligation.
Third-Party Services & Links
The Services may link to or rely on third-party sites, SDKs, or services (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, ads). We are not responsible for third-party content or policies. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
Leaderboards & Fair Play
- We may review, adjust, or remove suspicious scores and take action against cheating.
- We may disable access to leaderboards for accounts or devices involved in abuse.
Disclaimers
The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or accuracy. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in such cases, only the limitations permitted by law apply.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER SUDOKU RETHINK NOR ITS LICENSORS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, only the limitations permitted by law apply.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sudoku Rethink and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of this TAC, laws, or third-party rights.
Termination
- We may suspend or terminate access at any time, including for violations of this TAC.
- You may stop using the Services and, if applicable, cancel subscriptions via the platform’s account settings.
- Upon termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity) will survive.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
This TAC is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or related to the Services will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and you consent to this jurisdiction, except where mandatory law in your country requires a different venue.
Miscellaneous
- Changes: We may update this TAC to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. We will post the updated TAC in-app and/or on our website and update the Effective Date. Continued use means acceptance.
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary; the remainder stays in effect.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment: We may assign these Terms; you may not assign them without our consent.
- Entire Agreement: This TAC and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement regarding the Services.
- Language: This agreement is written in U.S. English. If a translation conflicts, the English version controls.

Community Guidelines
Rules for names, profiles, and behavior to keep Sudoku Rethink friendly and safe.
Purpose
Sudoku Rethink is a welcoming, general-audience community. These Community Guidelines explain what’s okay and what isn’t when using our apps, websites, and related services (“Services”). By participating, you agree to follow these rules in addition to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Who These Apply To
- All users, signed-in or not, and all user-generated content (UGC) such as display names, usernames, avatars, bios, chat, comments, and shared puzzles (if available).
- Everywhere in the Services, including leaderboards and multiplayer features (if available).
Naming Policy (Display Names & Usernames)
Names must be respectful, safe for a general audience, and easy to read. We may moderate, hide, or change names that violate these rules.
- No profanity or sexual content: avoid obscene, explicit, or suggestive terms.
- No hate or harassment: no slurs, hateful ideologies, demeaning language, or targeted harassment.
- No threats or violence: do not promote harm, self-harm, or violent acts.
- No impersonation: do not pose as another person, brand, moderator, or public figure; parody must be obvious.
- No spam or ads: avoid promotional messages, links, or keyword stuffing.
- No personal data: don’t include phone numbers, email addresses, or other identifying info.
- No deceptive formatting: no invisible/zero-width characters, excessive repetition (e.g., “aaaaaa”), or look-alike characters intended to mislead.
- Basic format: 3–24 characters; letters, numbers, spaces, and limited punctuation are okay. We may restrict unusual symbols for readability.
- Changes: we may limit how often you can change your name to prevent abuse.
Avatars & Bios
If avatars or bios are available, the same rules apply. Don’t upload copyrighted, explicit, or hateful imagery; don’t use others’ photos without their permission; and avoid screenshots that reveal personal information.
Prohibited Content & Behavior
- Hate speech, harassment, bullying, or discriminatory content.
- Sexual content or nudity; sexually suggestive content; exploitation of minors (zero tolerance).
- Threats, glorification of violence, or encouragement of self-harm.
- Illegal activity, instructions for wrongdoing, or content that facilitates fraud.
- Spam, scams, malware, phishing, or deceptive practices.
- Cheating or manipulating scores/leaderboards; attempts to bypass moderation or technical protections.
- Posting someone’s private information without consent (“doxxing”).
How to Report Violations
Open Settings → About & Support and choose Give Feedback to report a name or profile. Include the exact display name, a brief reason, and (if possible) a screenshot or your User ID. You can also select Email Us from the same screen, or write to privacy@sudokurethink.com (cc contact@sudokurethink.com) for urgent safety issues.
Moderation & Enforcement
We use automated filters and human review. Actions are chosen based on context, severity, and prior history. We aim for proportionate responses; in urgent safety or legal situations we may act without prior notice.
- Name corrections: reject a new name, request a change, or temporarily replace it with a generic placeholder (e.g., “Player ####”).
- Limited visibility: hide names from leaderboards/search or place accounts in read-only mode.
- Feature limits: apply a cooldown on renames; temporarily restrict leaderboards, chat, or multiplayer features.
- Content removal: remove violating names, avatars, bios, or posts.
- Score actions: remove scores/achievements obtained through cheating or abuse.
- Account actions: warnings → temporary suspensions → permanent bans; severe or repeated violations may lead to account and/or device bans.
- Legal & safety: where required by law or to prevent harm, we may preserve records and notify platforms or authorities.
Notice & Appeals
- When practical, we’ll notify you in-app of any action and a brief reason code.
Repeat Violations & Evasion
- Repeated violations may escalate penalties, up to permanent account/device bans.
- Attempts to evade moderation (e.g., creating new accounts to bypass restrictions) may result in broader enforcement.
Safety of Minors
Our Services are for a general audience and are not directed to children under 16. Content involving the exploitation or endangerment of minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines to reflect safety, legal, or product changes. We’ll post updates in-app and/or on our website and update the “Effective Date.” Where required, we’ll provide advance notice of material changes.
